Welcome to Zion Lacrosse, Southern Utah's first premier all-girl lacrosse club. We are dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive environment for girls and their coaches to learn and excel in the sport of lacrosse. Our club was founded with the goal of promoting the growth of girl's lacrosse in our community and empowering young female athletes through teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. With qualified and experienced coaches and a supportive society, we strive to develop not only skilled lacrosse players but also confident and resilient young women. Get to Know Us

Hey there, welcome to Zion Lacrosse! I am Coach Amy Erickson and I moved to St George 4 years ago with my husband and kids for my husband's job as a Physical Therapist. With young kids and no family near by I was trying to find an outlet, something that was familiar to me that I enjoyed. I looked into helping with girls’ lacrosse at any level that could use help; Quickly realizing there wasn't much of anything offered here for girls in this sport was troubling to me. I came across a small clinic that was being held and reached out to help set up cones...I walked away from the clinic with the delegated responsibility to help build a high school program..Not quite what I had in mind, but I am so very grateful it turned out that way!! After a few weeks with the high school I had the opportunity to help establish Utah Tech's Women's Lacrosse team and have been working with them since. I have enjoyed working with the college players and am proud of what has accrued over the last 3 years including qualifying for regionals this season! I also know there is a need here in Southern Utah to have an all-female lacrosse club for our female youth…this is where Zion Lacrosse comes in.

Though the level of play differs vastly from team to team and age group to age group, at Zion Lacrosse we believe that no matter the age or team, those who join the lacrosse community with an open mind and eager desire, will learn to love and respect the game! There has been a grand effort by several amazing people over the last four years, to spread girls’ lacrosse at the high school level here in Southern Utah and Zion Lacrosse will continue that growth by bringing it to the younger girls as well as serving the high school aged players.

Meet the Coaches

Founder and Coach

Amy Erickson

I am Amy Erickson, Coach and Founder of Zion Lacrosse. My lacrosse life started in High School where I played 2 years in Utah and 2 in Minnesota, followed by playing a couple of seasons for the University of Utah. While at the U, I was offered my first head coach high school position and quickly found my passion for it.

I have 15+ years of coaching experience in Utah at various levels. 10 of those years were as Varsity Head Coach at Skyline High School, Bingham High School, and Olympus High School. I’ve coached at the Junior and Thunder youth leagues, have had the exciting opportunity to coach U15 and U17 Team Utah National comp teams, and most recently, I have been working as the Head Coach at Utah Tech University where we just finished our season on a high note at regionals!

It is my hope and goal that Zion Lacrosse will not only accommodate high school players, but also bring the sport to the younger levels. Zion Lacrosse will give these girls room to learn, grow, develop skills and confidence, play, and compete within Utah and its surrounding states. Lacrosse is my passion, and I am thrilled to share this with all Southern Utah.

Coach

Emily Hardman

My name is Emily Hardman, Coach of Zion Lacrosse. I started playing lacrosse in 2010 as a fourth-grader who wanted to be like her big brothers. Since then, lacrosse has been a big part of my life. I played throughout elementary and middle school and then played 3 years of varsity lacrosse at Olympus High School. In high school, I also played one year of club lacrosse with Utah Mamaci and two years with Utah Elevate. In 2016 I found my passion for coaching when I helped coach the Olympus middle school team during my junior and senior year. After graduating high school in 2018, I played one season of fall ball with Utah Valley University, but decided that my years of playing were over and I started coaching one on one training sessions with high school and middle school players. In 2020 I helped coach Utah Elevate a bit while still offering one on one coaching. In 2023, I helped start a WCLA women’s lacrosse team at Southern Utah University, where I worked as head coach. At the end of 2023, I moved to Saint George where I currently work as head coach at Desert Hills High School. Lacrosse has been a life changing experience for me, a place where I have made my closest friends and built a second family, learned teamwork and grit, communication skills, self-empowerment, and commitment. I am ecstatic to be apart of bringing this experience to girls of all ages in Southern Utah and I am honored to be apart of Zion Lacrosse.

Coach

Ashlyn Smith

My name is Ashlyn Smith. I grew up as girly as could be, dancing competitively for 12 years when my lacrosse journey started. Trying to be just like my brothers, I picked up my first stick and absolutely fell in love, never looking back since. I started with my hometown rec team in 2019, then played 4 years of varsity lacrosse for Bingham High School, 2 as varsity co-captain. After I graduated in 2023 I moved to St. George to attend and play lacrosse for Utah Tech University. Lacrosse has been such an important part of my life since that very first practice. Lacrosse introduced me to so many life long best friends and to so many opportunities that I will be forever grateful for! I am so beyond excited for this opportunity to introduce lacrosse to a new generation in Southern Utah and share my love of lacrosse.

Coach

Sarah Lunt

I am Sarah Lunt, coach of Zion Lacrosse. I started my lacrosse career in 5th grade, following in the footsteps of my three older siblings. I went on to become a team captain my senior year of high school, earning honors as an Academic All-American, First Team All-Region, and Second Team All-State. My passion for fitness led me to become a NASM-certified personal trainer in 2023. I also had the opportunity to guest play for Southern Utah University for a semester. Coaching has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I’ve loved my first year as an assistant coach for Desert Hills. I’m excited to continue sharing my love for the game as part of the Zion Lacrosse coaching staff.

Addison Mager

My name is Addison Mager. I’m from Oregon, and picked up a lacrosse stick for the first time at a small club clinic in 6th grade. I was clumsy as all get out, but boy did I have fun! From that point on I made lacrosse my life, constantly practicing, joining club teams, and getting as many of my friends to play as possible! I practiced relentlessly and was able to play “up” for the best teams my area offered for 7th and 8th grade year, and made varsity for 6A Tualatin High School my freshman and sophomore year after extensive try-outs while still playing club. During this time I also refereed for the younger girls and was an assistant coach for my younger sister’s team, which helped me all the more in grasping the game. After some injuries and changing schools I unfortunately stopped playing. It broke my heart to walk away, but recently my husband started medical school in Ivins, UT and I’ve been able to get back into the sport I love so much both with Zion Lacrosse and at Snow Canyon High as the assistant coach. I’m passionate about helping young women be the best they can be, and so look forward to teaching these girls the game of lacrosse. I’m excited to contribute in growing the game here in Southern Utah with Zion Lacrosse!

Important Information:

Practices are a Monday & Thursday pattern - locations given upon registration

- We offer a family discount- if you have 2+ players registering for the club we offer a $50 discount on your fees. We also offer a $20 discount for each referral that registers for Zion. (i.e Referrals - "Jane told me about your club and I would like to sign up)

-We are available to ALL of Southern Utah - this means we will do our best to accommodate the majority - if we have a large number coming from Cedar City we will try to hold a practice each week there, if numbers are largely coming from Hurricane we will try to hold a practice there, etc - right now most of our players come from St. George so we have been holding practices there. We want to help everyone by eliminating headaches where we can. We have a parent group chat for carpooling help.

4th-6th, 7th-8th grades $350
9th -12th grades $375

These are the required practices for all participating players and will be held Monday and Thursday evenings.

Specific times depend on team registered for and are TBA.

Games and or scrimmages are also TBA.

4th-8th Grades:

Comp and Travel
9th - 12th Grades: $450

These are the required practices for the comp and travel team members. These practices are dedicated to prep players for traveling competition tournaments. This Fall season we will be attending Stick-or-Treat in Layton, UT October 25, and hope to host our own 7's tournament November 14-15.

We want to remind players and parents that as we build this program there are some things we have to take into consideration 1.We are always trying to increase our team numbers and amount of games will depend on this.

2. Overall skill level of the players will depend on their willingness to put in the work.

3. Teamwork- Most other competitive programs require a try-out to be on their team, our program is unique right now in that there isn't a tryout this season. Simply sign up! Commitment to this team will be very important, especially through the fall as we prep the players for their high school season, we want all our players to connect well together.

This team is offered for players 9th grade -2026 graduating seniors.
